GET EVEN MORE FROM YOUR PORT

Your IX Australia connection gives you access to more than just other networks. Reach popular content, critical internet infrastructure, open-source resources and community services through our Content Network (AS10084), that is connected to each exchange.

MORE VALUE, MORE LOCAL

Our Content Network brings useful content and services closer to IAA Members.

WE provide rack space, power, compute, addressing and bandwidth at no cost to selected services and projects that deliver a genuine benefit to Australia’s internet. It is one of the ways IAA fulfils its purpose of supporting the development of the internet for the Australian community.

By hosting and supporting content locally, we help Members reduce latency and reliance on upstream transit, improve performance for their users and get greater value from every peering port.

WHAT'S ON THE CONTENT NETWORK?

Critical internet infrastructure

Foundational services that contribute to the stability, security and resilience of the internet.

We host on behalf of operators; Root DNS, Anycast DNS, DNS sinkhole services and more!

Research and education

Selected research projects, university initiatives and technical experiments that contribute to the development of the internet.

An example is the RADclock project from the University of Technology Sydney.

Software mirrors

Local access to widely used operating systems, software repositories and other software resources.

Some examples include Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS, AlmaLinux, SourceForge and FreeBSD.

Public internet tools

Routing information, diagnostic tools and community services that support network operators and the wider technical community.

Examples include IRR database mirrors, BGP.tools, DALnet IRC and Route Views.

IAA compute infrastructure

The infrastructure used to develop and deliver our online platforms, network information and operational services.

This includes infrastructure supporting our websites, Member Portal, Network Metrics, Looking Glass and much more.

CDN caches

Locally hosted caches bring popular content closer to connected networks to reduce latency and reliance on upstream transit.

Content providers include Apple, Google, Meta, Microsoft, Netflix and Steam.

COULD YOUR PROJECT BENEFIT AUSTRALIA'S INTERNET COMMUNITY?

We’re interested in hearing from organisations working on internet infrastructure, open-source resources, research, education or community services that could add value to Australia’s internet.

IAA may provide rack space, power, compute, addressing or bandwidth at no cost to selected projects.

Note: Support is discretionary and subject to available capacity, technical suitability and alignment with IAA’s purpose. Projects must demonstrate a genuine benefit to Australia’s internet and its wider community.
